Day Trip
Begin your day by stopping by the Java Tea Room for some coffee or tea. This quaint little coffee shop has its own wonderful blend of coffee. They also have a small gift shop where you may find some great handmade cards, jewelry, and other fun items.
After you have had your cup of joe, visit Oodles of Doodles quilt shop, where you will see an amazing “wedding gown quilt”. This quilt is one of a kind. People drive from all around to check out this great quilt and read the story behind it.
For lunch you can skip down the street to Gambino’s Pizza for some pizza or pasta. A dessert pizza or ice cream will make an excellent dessert.
The next stop is Encore Occasions Boutique. Browse through designer gowns and try on as many of them as you like. Just across the street you will find McKinley Mercantile. If you like antiques, you can stop by Trash Barrel Antiques and rummage through relics of the past.
Before leaving the area, stop for dinner at Nelson’s Landing Restaurant and Sports Bar, 4 miles up the road in Leonardville. Enjoy farm fresh Angus beef, sweet potato fries and don’t forget homemade pie for dessert!
